The Top Xbox Games for 2012

This year was a great year for the release of the top Xbox games for 2012. There were many excellent game releases which make it kind of hard to come up with a list of 10, 15 or even 25 top games for the
year. Many of the Xbox games that came out were sequels of first, second and even up to fourth or fifth in the series.

The first in the series of the Prototype games was fun to play but the graphics were not that good and the storyline really had no point to it. However, in the sequel, Prototype 2, there are enhanced graphics, exciting game play and a suspenseful storyline.

Street Fighter, one of the best Xbox games in 2012,  was one of the most anticipated fighting games to hit the market this year. The game incorporates a combo system consisting of six buttons which the player can use for various fighting moves.

Dragons Dogma game is a Western role-playing game that is set in medieval fantasy times. Dragons Dogma is a single player game that has the elements of sorcery and standardized swords.

Ghost Recon was a huge hit when it first came out so it was no surprise that ghost Recon: Future Soldier was going to be just as big when it was released in March of 2012. The 4th installment of the Ghost Recon series was hugely anticipated.

Kingdoms of Amalur: The Reckoning became one of the top Xbox games for 2012.  This game allows players to create their own character adapted to their play style and may even customize the character's own class.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is the first of the Metal Gear series to be released on the Xbox and also the first in the series to contain heavy action. Think about how cool it would be to play the role of a ninja cyborg.

Halo 4 was sure to be one of the best Xbox games in 2012 when it was released, since the three before it were major hits with gamers. The game itself was created from the beginning to expand the narrative through a trilogy series.

Borderlands 2 was another much-anticipated game that came out and soon became one of the top games for Xbox in 2012. Players of the game say it is a highly addictive first-person shooter game that takes place on a science fiction planet.

Dishonored is no doubt one of the top playing Xbox games. Dishonored is considered a stealth game where you can kill your enemies and unlock superpowers.

Lollipop Chainsaw revolves around a simple storyline where a cheerleader takes a chainsaw to tons of zombies. However, there is actually more to the game than that as players can unlock new moves as well as costumes.

Sleeping Dogs is a game of open world crime. Instead of using guns in the game, players use hand-to-hand combat.  Once the game was released, it soon became one of the best Xbox games in 2012.

Far Cry 3 is another sequel that is thought to be one of the top games for the Xbox in the year 2012. Not only that, it is also slated to be one of the best shooter games of the year.

Final Fantasy XIII has an amazing battle and monster system. The game has a great storyline, great visuals and a great soundtrack.

Forza Horizon is the King of racing games. What makes the game so fun to play is the world that players get to explore, numerous races to choose from and lots of fast cars to customize.

While there were many other great Xbox games to hit store shelves this year, these are deemed to be the top Xbox games for 2012.
